Information about 1.2-m-dish

1,2 Meter Teleskop

Our smallest telescope with a diameter of 1.2 meters (3 feet 3 inches) was built to demonstrate radio astronomy locally at schools. It is therefore designed to be portable by being affixed on a small trailer that can be transported where needed.

The telescope allows for reception of the 21-cm emission line. In doing so it enables students to learn about the composition of the Milky Way. An educational concept in regards to the execution of these demonstrations was designed within the master-thesis of an aspiring physics teacher.

If you or your educational institution is interested in a demonstration you can contact us via: info@astropeiler.de

A technical description of the telescope may be found here: (only in german)
