Regular Sunday tours

From May to October we offer a guided tour of the facilities every Sunday at 2:00 pm.

We will show you live the function of the 25-meter telescope and demonstrate radioastronomical measurements. In our exhibition room, you can admire devices and instruments from the history of the radio telescope. Finally, we will take you on a tour of our campus to introduce you to the other telescopes of the entire facility.

Registration for these regular tours is not required.

Group tours by appointment

If you would like to book a guided tour for a group outside these times or season, please contact us by e-mail or via our contact form! During such specially arranged tours, we can gladly respond to your topic requests in detail, from the historical significance of the radio observatory at Stockert to the control and regulation technology to more detailed radio astronomical questions.

Accessibility

The astropeller itself is unfortunately only accessible by wheelchair on the first floor. The building, designed in the 50s, with its special architecture, unfortunately cannot be made practically accessible. If you are interested in the observatory, please write to us and we will try to find a solution – for example with the help of a live video stream.
